Pokemon Leaf Green Nuzlocke Let's Play! Part 2: When Bugs Attack!
Welcome to Part 2 of my Let's Play for Pokemon Leaf Green, Nuzlocke style! In the last part we began our journey, delivered Oak's childhood pornography Parcel, and got a Pokedex! In this part we will be going through Viridian City and its forest, as well as meet several new partners that will aid us in the long adventure ahead.
I'd like to note that I forgot to pick up a Town Map from PINGAS's sister in the last part. It's pretty simple, just go into your rival's house and talk to his sister.
First off, I'd like to start by saying that I went ahead and ground to level up Torch a bit BEFORE I got my Pokeballs in the last part. You can't ever be too careful in a Nuzlocke run.
I go from Oak's house into Route One and luck out, finding a Pidgey. Luckily I didn't get a crit on it with Torch, so I was able to catch it fairly easily.
Since I'm going to be nicknaming all the Pokemon I catch in this run, I ponder over what to name Pidgey, and arrive at this. You can't ask for more than a name that perfectly fits the character limit.
After advancing on up to Viridian City, you'll run into an old man that was drunk (at least in the Japanese version) and wouldn't have let you passed prior to delivering Oak'schildhood pornography Parcel. Now he apologizes and offers to show you how to catch Pokemon.
I assume he's hawked up on morphine and TV Land programming, so I just smile and nod.
*One useless tutorial later!*
Sure why not.
I find a Rattata on Route 2, another easy catch. I didn't save an image for this, but I decide to name him "Joey Jr.", for obvious reasons.
Now I have two choices: I could either go onto the rival battle on Route 22, or I could go ahead to Viridian Forest. In order to lower the risk of me losing a Pokemon, I go into the forest first so I can catch another one to aid me in battle.
I really like the way they did an intro artwork for each pseudo-dungeon area. It really adds a nice touch.
I run into a Weedle first in the Forest. Of course, Butterfree is probably the better evolution, but oh well, that's the way it goes. The nickname is self-explanatory. :3
*Much, MUCH grinding later*
Ta-dah! I decided to go ahead and level Weedle/Kakuna up so that she could at least be remotely useful.
Keep going right from the entrance to find this item, a Potion.
And here we have our first Trainer in the game! He's ridiculously easy to beat, so no worries. I don't think he even has any evolutions of Caterpie/Weedle.
Another easy trainer. Features the basic Caterpie/Weedle/Metapod/Kakuna. No problem.
This is an Anitdote on the main path of the Forest. You can't really miss it. Unfortunately, Poison Sting is a bitch, so I already stocked up on Antidotes before coming here.
Another trainer, but with a twist! He likes trees! HIPPIE.
In front of my character there will be a Pokeball holding another Potion. Pretty useful items so far.
If you backtrack and take a left at the entrance, you can find a Pokeball here.
Something you might not know about. There's a hidden Potion right here. The trainer just has a high level Caterpie. It should be mincemeat just like everything else in this area.
And that's it for Viridian Forest. Now that we have more Pokemon and they're all leveled up, the battle should be 9001 times easier.
This is the entrance to Route 22. It's on the western border of Viridian City, right below the old drunkard guy.
There's a patch of grass in Route 22, which counts as a new area, so that means I can find another friend to add to my party of mediocre misfits.
OH MY GOD I WANT IT.
A Poison Sting from Beedrill is enough to get her just weak enough to catch. Because I'm oh so very smart, I forget to take a picture of his nickname (either that or the image cap for the screen capture was met xD). But since his Pokedex entry states that he can be harmless one second and angry the next, I name him "BIWINNING!".
Aaaaaaaaaaaand heeeeeeeeeeeeere's PINGAS! He explains that you need 8 badges to enter the Pokemon League (dur) and challenges you to a battle.
Pidgey versus Pidgey. BUT ONLY ONE CAN WIN.
Many Gusts/Tackles later, I manage to kill his Pidgey.
Next he sends out his Squirtle, so I decide to send out Beedrill because....Well, because he's not as bad as Rattata.
I basically Fury Attack the shit out of him while he tackles. Nothing too spectacular.
Good always prevails over evil, and Pensio always prevails over, well, everything.
Remember how in the last part I told you how big of a douche this guy is? Exhibit #2, right here.
Says the guy who challenged me to a battle.
Anyway, I heal up my party and go back through Viridian Forest, ending up in the last half of Route 2 and close to Pewter City, the location of the first gym in the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it for Part 2. In the next part we will tackle (no pun intended) the first gym, featuring the Rock type user, Brock! I may just have Part 3 only feature the gym, as a way to organize the major boss battles in the game.
Anyway, got any notes of things I missed, ideas, critique, or just feel like commenting? Post them here! I look forward to the feedback I receive from you guys, and it really motivates me to make more parts and put a lot of effort into them. So for Arceus' sake, comment!

Yeah, but with Mankey and Charmander's Metal Claw, I should be able to get through it okay.
Also, you don't want to be named after something unimportant right? Half of the pokes in my party right now will be boxed or die eventually anyway. xD
And COME AT ME BRO.
But yeah, thanks for commenting and junk.

Fine, but I must play a very important part on your team! D:<
That or a heroic death only I can achieve!
Either that, or w/e, it's cool with me, just don't die.
And no problem, this is something that holds my interest. :3
