Pokemon Emerald Mono-Type Runs!
Hey guys. Awake came to us with the idea of doing MonoType runs through Emerald. We decided to make a contest out of it. Heres the deal. We'll be giving out DT for the first person to do each of the feats. Only two people may use a singular type.
Types:
Fire-Safiliwen
Water-Leo
Grass
Electric
Psychic - Zai
Dark - buckthefuffalo
Ghost - Flash
Fighting - Awakening
Rock - Evan
Ground
Flying - Aizen
Steel-Luc
Normal
Dragon
Ice
Bug
Poison
Feats:
First to down the Elite Four - 50 DTS
-
First to down the Battle Pike - 75 DTS
First to down the Battle Pyramid - 75 DTS
First to down the Battle Factory - 100 DTS
First to down the Battle Dome - 75 DTS
First to down the Battle Arena - 75 DTS
First to down the Battle Palace - 75 DTS
First to down the Battle Tower - 75 DTW
Two of these may NOT be achieved by more than one member, due to overload of DTS.
-
First to down 3 Battle Facilities - 100 DTS
First to down 5 Battle Facilities - 125 DTS
First to down all 7 Battle Facilites - 150 DTS
-
First to down Steven - 100 DTS
First to down Steven without losing a Poke - 150 DTS
First to down Steven 3 times without losing a Poke - 200 DTS
You are allowed to hack the Pokemon in the beginning of the game using the Wild Modifier Hack. DO NOT HACK POKEBALLS, RARE CANDIES, TMS, ETC. This means you can have Pokemon such as Gastly and Misdreavus from other regions. Don't hack the evolved versions of Pokemon for your team. Do not hack Movesets for your Pokemon. One off-type/HM Slave is allowed.
To join, make sure you have Video Boy Advance Simulator. Other Simulators may work, but VBA is recommended. Use the Cheat List for Game Shark to upload the Codes. You will need a Master Code. To create a Screenshot to verify/update your status, click F12 while playing. The Screenshot will show up in your Desktop. You may also click File on your Simulator, and click Take Screenshot.
Good luck!
To prove that you have done all of these, we ask you to take a screenshot when you achieve certain goals. Make sure that no one has done it before you, otherwise you won't get DTS.
Have fun, and post the sceenshots as a reply to this topic!

Re: Pokemon Emerald Mono-Type Runs!
Okay, I know that this may be the first time of using ROMs and cheats for many of you, so here's a quick guide to using them.
Visual Boy Advance is the Emulator to use a GB or GBA game and can be obtained here.
Pokemon Emerald is the the game that we'll be using for this run, and can be obtained here.
Seeing that some types are lacking in many available Pokemon in Emerald, you can use a Wild Pokemon Modifier Code for from Gameshark option to obtain Pokemon that are not found in the Hoenn Region. A good list can be found here.
One must obtain the MASTER CODE from here
And for the Pokemon list:
Just use Control + F to find the Pokemon you want to find.
Put both the Master Code and the Pokemon codes you want in your Cheats tab under Gameshark (choose one Pokemon at a time, though. Too many cheats will lag/freeze your game). Then Press OK and then just go into tall grass. And that's all there is to it.

Re: Pokemon Emerald Mono-Type Runs!
- Just wait for the plot twist at the end, guys. :3:
So first off, after completing my quest for all 8 badges, as well as putting a stop into the evil, yet stupid ideals that Team Magma and Aqua attempted with the help of Rayquaza. And now I found myself at the entrance of the Pokemon League and to face off the Elite 4.
-Sidney was easy. Fighting attack spam.
...It was an awful match.
But after what felt like forever...
Glacia was just as easy as Sidney. Durr.
And after a heated match with Drake...
It was a harsh match againstFaggotChampion Wallace.
Only natural that his last Pokemon was part Flying, don't cha think?
But, soon even the Champion fell.
And then, for the amaaazing team I used for this run is the following:
And of course, me. :3
Skiiiiip- And hear I am, riding into the sunset with May.
Now you think this where this post ends, right? Well, this is the plot twist the title of the spoiler meant. :3

Re: Pokemon Emerald Mono-Type Runs!
It seems everyone playing the current Emerald ROM is having uncertainties of Game Deletions after beating Wallace. I have found a valid solution to avoiding this, and moving on to the E4.
Before you fight Wallace.
1. Change your setting to flash 64.
Save you game using the start and save which is in the actual game.
This should create a save file which is 64.
Repeat the above steps using 128.
Your save file should now be 128
If this is correct then you can now defeat the last boss.
Once that is done, at the part when you see your Pokemon being registered, or after the Hall of Fame save, Reset the game. You should be at Littleroot, with your stuff, Pokemon, and a clear game.
It seems that the 64 to 128 works, but you must first save under 64 first.
I opened a previously saved game that was saved using 64 and it seems that the conversion cannot be done instantaneously. For the save to work you have to tell the game that you want to save using 128.
Please tell me if this doesn't work.
EDIT: CONFIRMED WORKING. THANKS TO ZAI FOR BEING MY TEST SUBJECT!

Sorry for the Double Post but, here's the Save Problem being resoluted to make things more clearer. Pay attention as he goes somewhat fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7LNIm7y51Q

Zai, thats not beating it.
You have to get to the Factory Master to beat it.
Good Luck. 21 in a row is pure evil.
