No Naruto is objectively bad though, what part about that don't you get? There are plenty of other better options out there. Like Soul Eater or Fairy Tail if you're going for that kind of style.

Here is a list of good to decent shounen anime:

HIghschool DxD (though you are probably too young for all the PLOT in this)
Claymore (well except the last episode)
Kaze no Stigma
Soul Eater
Black Blood Brothers (Short but one of my personal favorites)
D. Gray Man (if you don't like this you should never talk about or watch anime again)
Shakugan no Shana (another amazing anime)
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Fairy Tail

See, this is where I respectfully disagree. Shana was good in certain parts, bad in others (most notably during almost all of S2), and overall felt mediocre. Just okay. None of the characters particularly stand out, and a lot of the side characters are annoying. The villains are pretty eccentric at first but, to me at least, seemed to get dumber as the series went on. Granted, I haven't seen the last two episodes, but if they end like typical romance/action then I could see the end being satisfying.

As for Resh, it's quite possible that anime might just not be for you. Or maybe try some different genres or something. Almost all of what Toonami airs are shounen/battle shounen, and those usually aren't held in very high acclaim. The bad voice acting in most English dubs doesn't help either since Toonami isn't ever going to air subbed anime.

Naruto is objectively bad on a critical level. I don't want to have to explain again why, as it would go nowhere, so I'll just leave that point there.

Honestly, I don't see what makes Fullmetal Alchemist better than Naruto Shippuden though.

Yeah it picks up pretty well in the lattter half of the series. Also Resh if you don't see it then I'm sorry to say but maybe Anime just isn't for you.

So given Drath's opinion of D. Gray Man and Claymore, he must have a relatively impressive repertoire. As more of a man of manga myself, I like most of those. There are redeeming qualities to Naruto imo. People just outgrow it is all. Like Power Rangers and Tonka trucks, some things get overdone and borinf, which we associate now with bad. I have plenty of old Naruto memorabilia. And I have a right to it. I also enjoyed Darker than Black, myself, along with FMA in my younger years.

Ya, it is slow at the beginning but really starts picking up later. I think starting in the teens or so. Once the main plot starts it definitely does.

I watched Soul Eater and I have to disagree, I still like Naruto more. I DO think Soul Eater is a good Anime, though.

A much more likeable cast, a plot that makes sense, less deus ex machina, fewer deaths just because, and themes that go beyond "believe in yourself!", to name a few things.

Honestly, I don't see what makes Soul Eater and Fullmetal Alchemist better than Naruto Shippuden though.

IMO the original FMA is only slightly better than Naruto, but Brotherhood is much better. The story makes more sense, its darker, the character development is better, it doesn't have as much dumb comedy as the original or naruto.

Generally they are considered better because they don't usually have as much slapstick comedy (some yes, but not generally as much), better plot, deeper characters and overall better storytelling and aren't just fight scene fight scene fight scene emotional scene fight scene fight scene fight scene fight scene fight scene. They generally have more to them than fighting scenes. Oh and better theming overall. In my opinion at least.

I can see where you're coming from, but there are other anime that do the whole "overdone" thing better. For example, Gurren Lagann. There are also many others that do drama better (assuming this is what you meant by the boring bit).

You forgot animation. Good animation is absolutely vital in battle shounen, and it's something Naruto Shippuden lacks for the most part.

Okay. So, Gurren Lagann is overdone to begin with. It can't decide if it wants to be a perverse-esque comedy or a mech manga/anime. It spends too much time developing Kamina and not enough time developing Simon. By overdone I meant used up. Depleted. Uninteresting. Like Hannah Montana for instance. Everyone was like "Oh Hannah Montana!". Now the prior fans are like "That was SO 2007". Because it was. Power Rangers played a HUGE part in my childhood, but now that I'm older I can see the obviously corny and fake faults in it. Same with Naruto. I used to think that Neji and his Gentle Fist shit was the best thing in the world. But now I can see that the series in itself is flawed, both plot and animation-wise. I think that we should let Resh like what he likes and keep our educated opinions to ourselves.
However, Resh, did you HONESTLY think you wouldn't get hate for this thread? Did you have a lobotomy?

There are quite a few themes to Naruto. Just because that is the main theme doesn't mean it's the only one. =/

But to be honest I mostly just watch Naruto for the fighting lol. I think the animation is pretty good, I see nothing wrong with it. Sure it could be better I guess, but I don't think it's bad.

And no Korasi, I expected hate, but Drathmar went a little too far.

What's going on right now that I can tell is just conversations. =/
