Before I had Emolga, Plusle was my favorite Pokemon. ;_;

But I'd go with Maractus. I just don't find much appeal in it.

Not true about Charmander. I defeated Brock with it alone in FR. It evolved in the fight with Brock.
Venusaur, though, gets raped after the first 3 gyms due to weakness to Poison, Psychich and Fire. Not to count the Ice E4 and Lance.

On red and firered i beat beat brock with just charmander's ember and i beat mist with charmeleon and a little help from oddish no problem. I would get rid of excadrill or pretty much anything that is focus sash dependent.
