The Missing Constellation

Now that I can blend in, I search more common places for dropped Slugs.

Streets, ect.

Vahn:

You search the streets looking for loose change in vain. Apparently nobody's careless enough to lose gold balls. However you spot a group of people in an alleyway gambling. Perhaps you should rob them. I mean you've already done it once before, right? Your hands couldn't possibly get any dirtier than they already are, right? You really want the money, don't you?

Kal:

You ask around seeing if anyone needs any errands done when a man approaches you. "Hey you lookin' for work? Yeah I got something that needs done. Back in the ruined town, there's an abandoned hardware store. I need some tools to help finish building a barricade. I'm unarmed and can't go in myself, but I'm sure if you were able to get here without a scratch on you, you must know a few tricks we don't. What do you say? I'll give you thirty slugs for it, flat."

I'll try to take one slug from them without them seeing me if at all possible, then gamble with it in hopes of getting some more.

If that's not possible, just steal anything that they are currently gambling.

Huh. Well I guess since that's the key out, I'll see you soon.

I hang up and move in the general direction of the city.

Vahn:

An alley's only one way in, you won't be able to slip by without being seen, especially when people have a tight grip on their savings here. Since you are unable to to pull off a thievery attempt in stealth you decide to just swipe the betting pool and try to make a break for it. The gamblers are rather athletic and begin closing in on you.

Kal:

"Sure thing, I can give you three packs of military rations. Kids like military rations, right? You can be like that one guy... err... the one with the bandana that smokes and goes around blowing up robots. Well here you go, good luck. Oh, and be careful for radiation, you might need a geiger counter to avoid that."

You head off into the ruined city and hear the familiar growls and snarls around you. You walk past the gateway and find yourself at an airfield. Perhaps if you could just get a working plane, you could fly yourself off this place. That seems like a nice thought, as the unnerving feeling begins to set in your mind as you traverse further into the city. The city might not be deserted after all as you see a shadowy figure in the distance.

Riley:

You travel with the main commute and wind up by the main plaza fountain. You see various stores and buildings all around as well as a map directory.

Tooltip: Ask and you might receive. What you can find and look for is only limited by your imagination. All you have to do is specify within reasonable limits what you are seeking and perhaps the direction of the story might throw you a bone. Stupidity may negate the effectiveness of this, however.

I'd like to call Vinnie.

I puy on my claws, make like spider man and climb up a building. I throw kunais at their arms and legs if i have to.

Vahn:

You manage to escape back onto the rooftop and count your earnings. You have stolen a total of 20 slugs.

Riley:

You dial up Vinnie's Seape and he promptly responds.

"Hey, if it isn't the man in purple, himself. Riley, how youse doin', eh?"

Not so well man, not so well. Ya see, some thugs came in, jacked my restaurant, and now their walking around like they own the place. Feel like helpin a guy out? I'll grab some pasta for ya when we get a little bum's rush on those pikers and palookas.

Riley:

"Sounds bad. But don't worry, I got backup fer ya. Frankly, I don't know how I wound up in this joint, I just saw a random flash-a-light and me and my guys ended up here. Dunno why your pasta place is here either, but we gotta make da best of da situation, eh? Meet me up by da pasta joint. I gotta surprise fer ya."

I'd like to meet up out of vision from the pasta place, but still within Vinnie's vision, if it isn't too much to ask.

I walk my way to the shop I originally wanted to go to from the rooftops. I get inside as fast as possible so no one sees me. If the shopkeeper isn't happy just taking my money and giving me stuff and wants to rat me out, I'll try to bribe him with a slug.

Vahn:

You enter the original store labeled "Wares" and the owner is none the wiser. Apparently he can be fooled with a new set of threads.

"What can I do for you, young sir?"

Riley:

You remain out of sight of the masked men and stand by a corner. Vinnie walks up to you, smoking his cigar.
"Say hello to your new set of wheels," he says as he points to a Rolls Royce Phantom pulling up by you. The driver of the car gets out and hands you the keys and the passengers walk out to open the trunk. You recognize them as Vinnie's goons. They all take out submachine guns and line up by Vinnie. Looking back at you, Vinnie tips his hat. "Shall we?"

"Well, what do ya have in stock? Anything to do with machinery or electronics? Maybe with robots?"

Vahn:

"Robots? Electronics? Just what are you talking about son? All our equipment in this town runs on steam power... not... oh no. You're not... you're not an Astherur fanatic, are ya?"

Riley:

Vinnie and his goons storm into the pasta restaurant and you begin to hear the sound of very loud gunshots. You see Vinnie's men leaving a short while later and they scramble off the scene. Vinnie himself approaches you. "Alright, they's all bumped off. If da flatfoots ask, tell him you were robbed. After all, it is your joint. I'd empty out the register too, if they check for missing assets."

I proceed into my restaurant to inspect the damage, and retrieve whatever is in the register.

Riley:

As you walk inside the restaurant you see the walls and floors riddled with bullets and blood, you aren't looking forward to cleaning this all up. Emptying out the register you pocket 200 slugs. Those masked men were sure turning this place up a profit. Shortly after sirens wail and police officers make their way into the building.
"Stop right there! What's going on here?!"

I was robbed. Damned rag-a-muffins ransacked the joint. Started running in and firing away. I hid behind the counter, and they grabbed what was in the register and ran.

Riley:

"Is that right? Well we're gonna need you to clear out sir and examine the crime scene. I don't understand what kind of people just run in and start firing away. Don't worry though, we will have our best detective on the case."

Thank you sir. I'll be upstairs if you need me.

I'd like to investigate my house.

"No....I don't even know what that is. Okay then what do ya got? I'd like some tools if ya got anything like that."

Vahn:

"How can you live in this town founded by the great Gerard Thorley, and not know of his rival, Leonid Astherur? Have you not been studying up on your history books, son? And for tools uh... I just have this wrench and hammer. They'll be five slugs for each one."

Riley:

You go upstairs and find your room ransacked. It's as if the place was flipped upside down. Your phonograph, computer, and all your records are broken. You then receive a call from Reed.

"I just saw on a colorless television what just happened. I'm assuming you've entered this realm as well and were attacked. Tell me what's going on here."

From what I understand, this is an alternate dimension that we have entered through enterring the code on the back of our phones into Seape. From what I understand, if we destroy a jammer of sorts, we will be able to go back to our world. My joint was taken over by some thugs, got shot up, and my house got trashed. How's it for you?
