"Big" pokemon news.

So as we've all heard by now there's going to be pokemon news soon.
However MNN just posted this:

"Pokémon-related news is coming next week, as first revealed last week in a recent Japanese trailer for Pokémon Black 2 & White 2.

We now know that the upcoming news isn’t only for the Japanese audience, as The official Pokémon Twitter page for North America sent out a tweet today that read, “Pokémon fans, mark your calendars! Check Pokemon.com on January 8th for some big news!

January 8th is four days away… What do you think the “big news” will be?"

TLDR; News is getting announced in both Japan and US at the same time, and it will be big news.

Does this change your views on what the news will be? Also, don't forget that GameFreak also said this would be the year the series "evolves".

In my eyes this takes the option of another pokemon spinoff of the table. Most of you are already thinking "Hoenn remakes omg omg omg". I think that's a pretty big possibility too.

It actually sounds like it could be something, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see since it's only 4 days.

I'd really like an RS remake as well. Or maybe they can do something like they did with B2/W2 and make a sequel with Gen 5 pokemon and new places.

For those paying attention to recent events, specials, and character direction, Eevee has been taking the spotlight in many aspects of the franchise lately. Whether that's a coincidence or not, Nintendo is going to have a Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 6:00 AM EST.

This announcement has been on the fandom news for a while now, so whether it be Hoenn games, Gen VI, a new Eeveelution... as long as it's not POKEPARK WII U I think we'll be good.

On another note, how will simulated competitive battling work from now on? No more sprites.

If you take a look at the official logos, you can see that there is something similar to a piece of DNA. Sure, XYZ coordinate system looks neat, but it seems Game Freak might be going into some sort of genetics theme somewhere along the line.

rather, they're repeating it. kyurem - w/b was genetically altered after all.

You could trace it back from FRLGE with Deoxys being introduced. I sure want to know where all of that is heading!
